The Palace was built in the 17th century and it preserves the characteristics of elegance of that age, with wide, bright and comfortable interiors. It is part of the several palaces along Via Pantaneto, with the front overlooking the historical centre and the back side overlooking the Sienese countryside.
The Palace, where the Monaci family lives since several generations, is named "Palazzo Landucci", a family of painters and sculptors who made part of the paintings that are still present inside. The street is part of the route of the Via Francigena and its name derives from the beautiful "Pantaneto Fountain", built up in the XV century with precious marbles. |
